As his former instructor in breast and chest work, I am amazed at the natural touch and gift Greg has for bodywork. His touch is heavy and soft, kind and professional. Greg recently traveled to Washington to work with me further on breast and chest massage. I had been under a lot of stress that week, and the work he did around my ribs and sternum really allowed me to release the stress and anxiety I was holding and breath deeply for the first time in several weeks. His touch is safe, neutral and healing at all times, and I am so happy he has opened himself to being able to help others--when needed--in areas like the breast and chest that can sometimes hold tension, anxiety, and potential trauma.

Ladies I know you don't think about getting a massage that includes breast/chest but you should. I own a Thermography business and I specialize in breast imaging and breast health education. Greg is professional, knowledgeable and skilled in his profession and I will recommend him for my clients.

Greg is an amazing massage therapist with a gentle and kind soul! He was able to release years of tension in my body within one single full body session! I have never felt so relaxed and loose all throughout my body, it is truly an incredible feeling. I have intense knots throughout my body that require deep tissue techniques to break them up. Greg was able to apply enough pressure to my knots to loosen them up without making me feel like I’m getting split in half which is a feat in itself! I also chose to include a breast massage in our session as I struggle with tight pectoral muscles that put a strain on my shoulders and neck due to having thoracic outlet syndrome. I was a bit nervous at first as most would be due to the vulnerability of having your chest massaged, however, Greg did an excellent job at making sure I felt comfortable and safe throughout the experience. Although chest/breast massage is not a common massage modality due to the nature of it and the way that it is perceived by society, I felt completely safe in Greg’s professional and trained hands and I was able to really benefit from it! I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has tight chest muscles or those who have breast related problems. Greg has a very informative section on his sight dedicated to breast/chest massage where you can find all of its different benefits and see if it would be something that could help you! Overall, I was very pleased with my massage from Greg and would recommend him as a massage therapist to anyone who is in need of a good massage from an experienced and professional massage therapist!

First of all I was extremely comfortable from the start. Greg is experienced and kind. That was close to one the best massages I have ever had! 11 years ago while breastfeeding I had gotten an infected milk duct. I didn’t know that all these years later it was affecting my back, ribs, neck and sometimes extreme breast sensitivity. I forgot I had even had the infected duct! I was getting breast/full body massage to see if it would help my neck and shoulders. Greg not only identified and asked if I had an old infected duct there ( because I never thought to mention it or even remembered it) he made me feel at ease and educated me along the way about everything he was doing! I was very pleasantly impressed because honestly I started not thinking I would want to incorporate my breasts. He is compassionate, kind and knowledgeable. Thank you Greg!

Chest & Breast Massage

Chest and breast massage supports healthy breathing and stress relief and can be integrated within a holistic, full-body session. These benefits apply equally in wellness-focused massage sessions and in treatment-focused massage. Treatment of the breast tissue is performed to increase breast health awareness, relieve congestion and edema in the upper chest and breast, ease general tightness as well as that due to scar formation from surgery, increase range of motion, prevent stagnation of fluid, alleviate breast symptoms of PMS, enhance milk flow and production for breastfeeding, reduce breast and nipple pain, improve respiration, increase flow of blood and lymph fluid throughout the breast tissue, and relax the fascia. This can also help clients living with breast cancer, breast augmentation, breast reduction, mastectomy, breast reconstruction, fibrocystic breast tissue, and other non-cancerous breast conditions.

Both men and women have breast tissue and must consent for massage to be performed on this region. Breast tissue is defined as the soft tissue bordered by the clavicle, the latissimus dorsi in the axilla region, the 6-7th ribs and the sternum.

Therapeutic rationale for massaging the chest and breasts includes, but is not limited to, providing support for breathing, circulation (blood and lymph), posture, lactation, and the immune system. This work is also used to treat neck, rib, and shoulders, to mobilize scar tissue and to prepare for and/or recover from surgery.

Lymphatic Breast Massage
This massage is for general breast health and works primarily by increasing lymph flow and releasing fascia and muscle tension. It can be helpful for many things including reduction of PMS related pain and inflammation, removing toxins and excess hormones, promotes healing post surgery. It can also help down regulate the nervous system to promote relaxation and stress relief, improving emotional well being and helps bring awareness to and normalize the breasts as just another part of the body.

Breast Health for Nursing Moms
This work specifically addresses breast health and function related to nursing. It can help to increase milk flow and production, decrease pain and swelling, and help to clear clogged ducts to prevent mastitis. Acute mastitis can also be treated with proper indications. Lymphatic drainage is the foundation of this treatment, but fascial unwinding of the breast tissue and mammary glands is just as important.

Chest and Shoulder Opening
This work is equally important for both men and women. Nearly all of the clients I see have tight shoulders and upper back. And most are surprised at how much this tightness and pain is related to a posture of hunched shoulders and a forward flexed neck that come so naturally in our unnatural, modern world.

General Notes
These sessions begin with a 10-15 minute intake discussion that includes general breast health, your personal history, self care exercises to practice at home, treatment options, development of a treatment plan defining your goals and boundaries and obtaining informed consent.

After the intake I will leave the room for you to change and get comfortable on the table. During the session, it's important for you to know that YOU are in control and at liberty to pause, modify or STOP the treatment at any time. The most important thing is that you feel safe and comfortable at all times. Initial appointments require a longer intake discussion and will require a full 60 minutes appointment.

Draping Options
Draped partial chest massage is done with breasts covered. Focus is at muscle attachments at the sternum and on the ribs. Soft breast tissue is mostly, though not totally, avoided. Nipples and areolas are avoided.
Undraped full chest/breast massage is done with the full chest and breasts uncovered. This entire area is massaged. Nipples and areolae are mostly avoided, but my flat palm and forearm will occasionally make contact with them within full breast massage strokes.

Informed Consent and Respect of Boundaries
Breast and chest massage WILL NOT be performed unless you have previously completed a written consent form that details your boundaries for both draping and areas of the body to be worked on. Additionally, during the massage, verbal consent will be required before actually undraping or touching areas of the chest. You will always have the option to change your mind and stop treatment or add additional boundaries. However, once boundaries are set, they will be strictly honored for the duration of the session and you will not be given the option to lessen or drop them in the moment. Your safety and comfort are paramount.

Chaperones
For your comfort, you have the option of having a chaperone that you provide in the room during these treatments.
